The Wheels of Balance | Your self-care routine

In recent times, more and more people have become aware of the incredible benefits of alternative therapies. As we live in such a fast paced world, with all of the stresses and strains of modern day life, it has become even more important that we take a more holistic approach to our well- being, bringing harmony to our minds, body and spirit as a whole.

My own personal journey began 10 years ago, following the birth of my gorgeous son. Shortly after his birth, I was diagnosed as having acute Post Natal Depression and things really started to spiral out of control. During this time, I was offered a range of traditional treatments including anti depressants and talking therapies and whilst these have their place, nothing felt like it was really getting to the root of the problem. The one thing I felt was lacking for me was any sense of control of my own life and it was at this point that I discovered alternative therapies and most importantly began to learn how through working with my chakra, I could take responsibility for my own healing. It was a complete revelation and transformed my life. Over the following years, I learnt everything I could and began introducing the practices into my daily life. I qualified as a Chakra Practitioner and Past Life Regressionist and began working with other people.  In 2019, I suffered a major heart health scare, which resulted in my having to give up my very successful Event design business. Whilst devastating at the time, it finally gave me the opportunity to follow what I felt was my true life path and Soul Purpose was born. Since then, I have had the opportunity to work with a wide range of wonderful clients, teaching them how to tap into the power of their chakra system. 

Chakra is the ancient Sanskrit word for “wheel” and refers to the spiritual energy centres located within the human body, of which there are 7 main ones located along the spine, and through the neck and the crown of your head. In order for our body to function at its very best, emotionally, physically and spiritually, all of our 7 chakras need to be balanced and allowing energy to flow freely and smoothly through our bodies. If one of the energy centres is not functioning effectively, then the others won’t function as well as they should. 

Chakras are powerful and complex energy centres that impact every aspect of your life. From your physical body to self esteem, creativity and your relationships with yourself and others, they are not only transmitters and receivers of energy, but are also where we digest, process and store our life experiences. Past trauma and unresolved pain are contained within our chakras and imbalances are the result of these experiences. In addition as we are constantly moving through the world, our energy is impacted by our life experiences every day. 

Consider your body like a car, as well as an annual MOT and service, in order to keep your car running at its optimum level, you also need to carry out regular maintenance and upkeep. We fill it with fuel, keep a check on its tyres and oil levels and give it a good clean. Our bodies are no different and as well as a full service, they too require constant upkeep, a balanced diet, regular exercise and taking care of our physical, emotional and spiritual needs on a daily basis.

 


Continuing with the car analogy for a moment, just like balancing the wheels of your car, balancing your chakras, helps to improve and maintain optimal performance. If the wheels on your car are not balanced, they become wobbly and create excess wear and tear to your tyres and your vehicle. Performance decreases, as does the life of the tyre and pretty soon you will be making a very expensive trip to the garage. When your chakras are out of balance, they can become too open or too closed. They are unable to effectively manage the flow of energy in your body and the result is that these imbalances create more stress and impact how you interact with the world around you. 
When your chakras are balanced you feel more grounded and safe in the world, operate with healthy boundaries, have improved self-confidence and self-esteem, are able to give and receive love with ease, have clearer communication and greater mental focus, feel healthier and happier and have a greater sense of connection.


Chakra work is all about connecting with your inner self, clearing energetic blocks and harnessing the power within. It can take many forms and can include working with a variety of different tools including crystals, colour, sound, essential oils, meditation to name but a few. At Soul Purpose, my aim is to create a space where I can share my passion of the chakra system and through both teaching and therapies, enable my clients to restore and maintain the natural balance of their chakras, enabling self-healing, empowerment and growth. I offer a range of therapies including chakra balancing sessions, which are both relaxing and restorative. I also run a variety of workshops designed to introduce people to chakras, as well as more in depth one to one courses which help clients to identify causes of blockages from past traumas and experiences and release these blocks. Balancing your chakra and maintaining them is an on going process and it requires time and commitment. Chakra balancing is a necessary part of your regular self-care routine and adopting your own daily practices to maintain overall Chakra health is the key to achieving well being, mind, body and spirit.
